Description: Enacted as Session Law 2013-361 on July 26, 2013. This data set is a polygon layer denoting the Guilford County Board of Education districts. District boundaries are derived from census data and are updated every dicennial census or as needed. Attribute data is updated after each General Election held during even-numbered years. (Last updated November 2014)Effective on the first Monday in December of 2016 as to the size of the board and effective beginning with the 2016 election cycle for the method of election, the Board of Education shall be composed of nine members elected on a partisan basis (eight single-member districts and one at-large member). In the 2016 general election, members for Districts 2, 4, 6, and 8 and the at-large member shall be elected for two-year terms. In 2018 and quadrennially thereafter, members for Districts 2, 4, 6, and 8 and the at-large member shall be elected for four-year terms. In 2016 and quadrennially thereafter, members for Districts 1, 3, 5, and 7 shall be elected for four-year terms.
